Wakaya: Rising Up for Native Health is a free wholistic wellness program for Native youth. Over the course of the program, participants will find fellowship among other Native youth determined to grow into good ancestors. Each cohort will participate in cultural activities, go on group hikes, and learn how to implement wholistic wellness into their lives as individuals and community leaders.
Due to the nature of our program, applicants to both the Summer and Fall programming will be randomly assigned to one of two cohorts. (We make exceptions for household relatives, who we can assign to the same session).
In order to participate in Wakaya, applicants must be Native American middle or high-school students age 12-19. Applicants may reside outside of Tulsa, but they must be able to commute Tulsa regularly for programming.
