Privacy and Confidentiality

  •  Data will be kept confidential and only shared outside the study team when required.
  • Survey data is stored on a secured server, password protected link file. The link between your identifiers (e.g. name) and the research data will be destroyed after the records retention period required by state and/or federal law.
  • Access to Wakaya’s digital projects will be limited to Wakaya participants only.
  • We will produce a report about the study. In the report, we will not include any information that will make it possible to identify you or other participants.

Hiking

Potential Risks

Our team is committed to making Wakaya a safe, transformative experience for everyone. However, there are some risks that must be accounted for when applying and participating in the program. Risks during Wakaya activities may include…

  • Weather exposure,
  • Limited bathroom access,
  • Hiking on unpaved, hilly, or otherwise suboptimal roads or trails,
  • Exposure to insects and wildlife, and
  • Anxiety or embarrassment when answering survey questions.

Wakaya’s highest priority is the wholistic wellness of its participants. Please tell anyone on the Wakaya team if you are injured, uncomfortable, or otherwise struggling with any part of the program.
